I am reading Eckhart Tolle "A New Earth" now. Kept away from it for a long time. I have this thing -I am frequently drawn away from movies or books that are SO-O-O popular with everybody. But now, when all the hype subsided more or less, I started it and it is definitely making a lot of sense and resonates with some other books I've read recently (eg.Tara Brach's "Radical Self Acceptance"). Will give more impressions when I finish it.

Sounds like me there..I am usually turned off by what's popular too. I too resisted the book a new earth for awhile but it kept calling to me to read it. It wasn't the easiest book to read but I made it through somehow and I am glad I did. I have recently acquired "The power of now" by the same author and will see if it's a bit of an easier read

I am not sure that it will be. :-? I actually browsed through The Power of Now when it was just released but it did not engage me. I think it might have been his style - sounded a little like preaching. And that's another reason why I was hesitant about The New Earth.

But now I think I will try The Power of Now again.

I have seen some of the web episodes of each chapter of a new earth on the oprah.com site. It actually helped with understanding each of the chapters a little better. The only thing I didn't like was the Oprah was a little too chatty during them and didn't give mister Tolle enough time to explain.

:llying: I've been reading the "Magick of Reiki" by Christopher Penczak. I sort of feel like he is my prophet. The book is really good. I think he shares a bit more than the average Reiki book. He has a lot of symbols in the book. I'm actually rereading thru some of it again.

Blessings and Namaste`, TJ :]

I'm reading aspiritual biography about George Harrison. "Here Comes The Sun" by Joshua Greene. The book is very interesting and although I know little of the author (Greene) he obviously comes from a very knowing, spiritual place. He portrays Harrison in a very interesting reflective light.

I've also been reading the Magick of Reiki by Christopher Penczak. I agree - it's a nice book that goes beyond that run-of-the-mill Reiki book.

I've got The Magick of Reiki and whilst I agree there are some interesting ideas presented, I think he's a little irresponsible in the way some of the material is presented. I noticed the chapter on Level1 attunement didn't include the symbol I was given at my attunement, which is for grouding.
But it does have some good stuff in it.

The Harrison bio sounds interesting.

I'm currently reading "The Third Man Factor" by John Geiger. It's quite interesting. It retells the stories of people in extreme circumstances who report a benevolent entity.

I just finished the Kite Runner and have started on the Sookie Stackhouse series. It's from the books based on the True Blood series on HBO.

Just finished "Reading Judas - The Gospel of Judas and the Shaping of Christianity" by Elaine Pagels and Karen L. King which was mind blowing :3: and helped me a lot in understanding Christianity and all the confusing stuff about it, very well written and easy to read.

Now starting to read a book called "Judas - Betrayer or Friend of Jesus" by William Klassen.

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

Its Sarahangels book.

Over the summer I read .... ONE yes count them ONE book at a time, it was a weird experience. It was OK as I was into my summer reading fluff but I don't know how long this can last!

I am currently reading "Eat, Pray, Love"....it's an interesting read, memoirs of the author as she went through a bitter divorce...travelled for a year and met the love of her life. So far it's pretty good.

I am reading the 6th book in the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon.
I have broke with tradition and was only reading one book at a time .... well .... until recently as I picked up some books at the library so I have gone from 2 books to 5 again!
