overindulgence or Hangover treatment

Postby majique » Sat Jan 17, 2004 12:47 pm

Overindulgence/Hangover:
4 drops Grapefruit
3 drops of sandlewood
3 drops of rosemary ( or petitgrain)
or
4 drops grapefruit
3 drops lavender
3 drops geranium
Use as either massage (add carrier oil: almond:jojoba ) or in the bath or put the burner on before the poor head has to come off the pillow and get out of bed in the morning
Good advice is to get the person to drink heaps of water prior to bed and as dehydration is the biggest cause of hangover so lots of water first thing in the morning too.( put a bottle in the bedroom)
You can also make a juice from grapefruit, carrot, celery.apple a 1/2 inch slice of fresh ginger, 1/2 a beetroot and an orange in the juicer. Plus lots of pampering for a fragile head and within the hour should be back to semi - normal to vibrant.
cheers majique
P.S. plus a sniff of straight peppermint or rosemary oil straight from the bottle helps.
additional oils are juniper and lemon as part of the combinations but remember about the three notes and blend accordingly
cheers

Thanks you majique this is very good information!

I have found having my Amethyst with me helps with a hang over ( not that I have many, as I hardly drink) If I drink too much I take my Amethyst to bed with me and in the morning I do not feel I have a hang over.

Lip Balm.

The basic method for making lip balm is ¼ of a cup of vegetable or nut oil, ¼ of an ounce of beeswax, 1 teaspoon of honey or glycerin, and ½ to 1 teaspoon natural flavoring oil such as peppermint, orange, lemon, almond, strawberry or your favorite.

Heat the oil and beeswax in a double boiler until the beeswax is melted. Remove from heat and whip with an electric beater until creamy. Add the honey or glycerin and flavoring oil; whip well to mix well. Bested stored in a glass jar. Apricot kernel oil is a great on to use on my lips

Lemon Antispetic.

When washing utensils and your kitchen sides, instead of using Commercial cleaning products, why not try some natural lemon essential oil in the water. Lemon is a natural antispetic and will kill any bacteria it comes in contact with. You only need a few drops in the water or you can squeeze a lemon to get it's natural juice when cleaning too!

Clean your Teeth and Gums with Sage.

Sage has a natural anitiseptic and not only is it good for sore throats and chest infections, it is also very good for your gums! Especially if you suffer with Gingivitis. Take a fresh Sage leave and rub it over your teeth and your gums and it's healing properties will kill any bacteria it comes in contact with.

I do this all the time
